Our instructors have years of teaching experience with students at all levels, from beginner to advanced. When you begin lessons with us, we'll review and gauge your experience and skill level to determine the proper starting point and move you forward without missing any pertinent musical skills. If you're a beginner, we'll start there. If you have experience, we'll enhance your skills and take you to the next level and beyond!
Music lessons are individualized and tailored to each student's needs and desires. If you want to learn a song from a particular artist, bring your sheet music, CD, or another format, and we will show you how it's done. The Benefits of Taking Music Lessons
Lessons for Young Students
For young students, music helps to improve concentration. It teaches the importance of study and practice. It also leads to increased performance in school. Music helps students by giving them a way to develop creatively. It takes them away from tv, video games, and texting and teaches them to use all of their digits, not just their thumbs.
Music Lessons for Adults
Playing an instrument is a great stress reliever. It helps take your mind off problems allowing you to escape and create. You feel the sense of accomplishment that comes with learning an instrument by playing for your enjoyment. In time, you may play for friends and family, at church, parties, and perhaps you may even start a band. Composing and playing your own music is the ultimate! The possibilities are endless.
Older Adults: Learn to Play Music
You’re never too old to learn to play music. If you are retired, learning to play an instrument is a great hobby, possibly something you have wanted to do your whole life. Maybe you want to renew the love and fun of playing an instrument that you’ve played in the past or start something completely anew. Whatever your desire is, it's never too late to start playing. In addition to being a fun activity, reading and playing music helps improve memory and manual dexterity.
Performing Music at The Music Man
Students at The Music Man have the opportunity to perform in our annual student concert. This is never a requirement, but it does offer those a chance to feel what it's like to perform in front of an audience. It also gives family and friends a fun experience to see what you have learned.
