The Music Man offers private lessons, in-person or online, seven days a week. We have professional instructors for a variety of musical instruments, including guitar, bass, drums, piano, uke, voice, and more. Our talented teachers have taught thousands of area students in our safe and friendly atmosphere. No matter what your age or experience, you can start playing and having fun today!
Our instructors have years of teaching experience with students at all levels, from beginner to advanced. When you begin lessons with us, we'll review and gauge your experience and skill level to determine the proper starting point and move you forward without missing any pertinent musical skills. If you're a beginner, we'll start there. If you have experience, we'll enhance your skills and take you to the next level and beyond!
Music lessons are individualized and tailored to each student's needs and desires. If you want to learn a song from a particular artist, bring your sheet music, CD, or another format, and we will show you how it's done. Or, if you prefer to learn based on an instructional booklet, we can set you up!
Effective June 1st, 2024 -
Lessons are officially $28 per half hour. We will find a spot on the schedule that works for you and you see the same instructor at the same half hour time slot, once a week.
So for example, if you sign up with Pete on Tuesdays at 3:30. You see Pete every Tuesday at 3:30. That is your spot until you tell us otherwise.
If you know at the beginning of the month there will be a date you are going to miss, let us know then and we won't collect for it. If you have already paid and something comes up, we ask for 24 hours notice and you'll be given a credit that rolls into the next month.
We allow students up to 2 misses per month, above that we are obligated to pay our instructors. There is the potential to reschedule to a different day or time to avoid paying for extra misses.
We collect lesson money at the beginning of the month for the entire month, and when you do that by cash or check we offer $1 per lesson discount, making it $27 per lesson at the first lesson day of the month.

The Benefits of Taking Music Lessons
Lessons for Young Students
For young students, music helps to improve concentration. It teaches the importance of study and practice. It also leads to increased performance in school. Music helps students by giving them a way to develop creatively. It takes them away from tv, video games, and texting and teaches them to use all of their digits, not just their thumbs.
Music Lessons for Adults
Playing an instrument is a great stress reliever. It helps take your mind off problems allowing you to escape and create. You feel the sense of accomplishment that comes with learning an instrument by playing for your enjoyment. In time, you may play for friends and family, at church, parties, and perhaps you may even start a band. Composing and playing your own music is the ultimate! The possibilities are endless.
Older Adults: Learn to Play Music
You’re never too old to learn to play music. If you are retired, learning to play an instrument is a great hobby, possibly something you have wanted to do your whole life. Maybe you want to renew the love and fun of playing an instrument that you’ve played in the past or start something completely anew. Whatever your desire is, it's never too late to start playing. In addition to being a fun activity, reading and playing music helps improve memory and manual dexterity.
